Men's Occupational Trainers are slip-resistant work trainers without a safety toe cap, for jobs where you're on your feet all day but don't need impact protection, such as hospitality, healthcare, retail and catering. The range comes from Skechers Work, with lace-up and hands-free slip-in styles, memory foam comfort insoles and wide-fit options.

Every pair is certified to EN ISO 20347, the standard for occupational (non-safety) footwear, with a slip-resistant sole. Many styles add fuel- and oil-resistant outsoles, and selected styles are antistatic and ESD-safe for electronics and lab work. If your role needs toe protection, choose safety trainers certified to EN ISO 20345 instead.

Occupational Trainers FAQs

What are occupational trainers?

Occupational trainers are work trainers certified to EN ISO 20347. They give slip resistance and comfort for long shifts but have no protective toe cap. They suit hospitality, healthcare, retail and other roles without crush or impact risks.

Do I need safety or occupational trainers?

If your workplace has a risk of falling objects or crush injuries, you need safety footwear to EN ISO 20345, which has a toe cap tested to 200 joules. Where the main hazard is slippery floors, occupational trainers are usually enough. Always check your employer's requirements.

What does SR mean on a work trainer?

SR is the slip-resistance marking under the 2022 standards. It shows the sole passed an extra slip test on a ceramic tile covered in glycerine. Styles certified under the older 2012 standard use SRA, SRB or SRC instead.

What does ESD mean?

ESD footwear safely discharges static electricity from your body to the floor. That protects sensitive electronic components, so it's needed in electronics, lab and cleanroom work. ESD trainers are also antistatic.
