Description

The Popps 1961 MOD is a men's suede monkey boot in navy, cut to an ankle height in the classic mod style. The suede is burnished, so the blue carries a slightly weathered look rather than a flat, uniform finish.

The lace-up front runs through the eyelets to the top of the ankle, letting you pull the fit in close or leave it easier over the instep. Stitching around the panels and the toe is left on show, which is part of the character of a monkey boot, and the toe itself is a rounded shape with a little room across the front. Underneath sits a flat TPR sole, under 2.5cm at the heel, with a textile lining inside.

It is a regular width, built for comfort and casual wear, so it suits anyone after a hard-wearing everyday boot with a bit of mod heritage behind it. Navy makes suede monkey boots easy to pair with denim, chinos or workwear, and it is a quieter alternative to black without going plain.

Confortable shoes, right size. Maybe i found them too much flat, prefering low heel and more thick rubber sole shoes. No need to break in as the leather (?) is really soft. While walking tought an embaracing “yek” hope will stop soon 😆
