The Popps 1961 MOD is a men's leather monkey boot in oxblood, a mod-inspired ankle boot built on a classic lace-up pattern with a round toe.

The oxblood leather is a grained, milled finish rather than a plain one, so it carries a little texture and substance and a deep red tone that shifts with the light. It sits somewhere between smart and casual, which makes it easy to pair with turn-up jeans, slim trousers or cords, and it gives a sharper lift to darker outfits than a black boot would.

Inside, a textile lining keeps things simple next to the foot, and the TPR sole with its flat heel, under 2.5cm, keeps the boot grounded and easy to walk in. The ankle-height shaft laces up close to the foot for a secure hold, and the fitting is a regular width. It suits men who want a casual, mod-leaning boot for everyday wear and who like a leather boot with a bit of character to the surface.

Confortable shoes, right size. Maybe i found them too much flat, prefering low heel and more thick rubber sole shoes. No need to break in as the leather (?) is really soft. While walking tought an embaracing “yek” hope will stop soon 😆
